Yugo Balance Settlement
Yugo Balance Settlement delivers received funds to a destination owned by the Merchant and managed by Yugo.
API value: settlement.method = yugo_balance
The request is always the same — you send settlement.method = yugo_balance. The destination of your Yugo balance is configured per Merchant in the Yugo backend during onboarding, as one of:
- Web3 custodial wallet managed by Yugo — received fiat is converted to the configured crypto asset and delivered to the Merchant's custodial wallet.
- Merchant Named Bank Account — received funds are held as fiat in a bank account opened in the Merchant's name, which Yugo has delegated access to manage.
How It Works
Crypto (Web3 custodial wallet)
- Yugo receives the funds from the Payer
- Yugo converts fiat to the configured crypto asset
- Crypto is delivered to the Merchant's custodial wallet
Fiat (Merchant Named Bank Account)
- Yugo receives the fiat funds from the Payer
- Funds are held as fiat in the Merchant Named Bank Account
Settlement Timing
Timing depends on the payment method used:
| Payment Method | Fund Receipt | Delivery to Yugo balance |
|---|---|---|
| Open Banking | Same day | After fiat settlement |
| Card / Apple Pay / Google Pay | Up to 3 business days | Typically day 4 |
Chargeback Reserve (Card-Network Payments)
When the payment method is card, Apple Pay, or Google Pay, a chargeback reserve applies:
- 90% of the amount is released immediately after settlement
- 10% is held as a reserve for 180 days
- The dispute window for card payments is up to 120 days
This reserve does not apply to open banking payments — no portion of settled funds is held back. Open banking payments do have a dispute window of up to 13 months, but are not subject to chargebacks.
Fund Management
After Settlement, funds are available in the Yugo Business Portal, where you can:
